Anna-Jonesboro at Pana

November 2, 2009 at 1:49 pm

A pair of lower seeds got past the first round. Anna-Jonesboro has had some defensive lapses this season. It might be enough for Pana to make it another round.

Can we please not have the ex members of the team making bad statements about this years team. Maybe you guys should actually talk about the upcoming game.

Huge game Saturday at Brummett. Proud of this team despite what I may have said previously, you guys all showed a great sense of determination at Pittsfield. Good Luck this week!

The game at Pittsfield was worth the drive!! Pana gets the ball back with a 12-8 lead and proceeds to burn the last 8 minutes off the clock. That was a classic drive to hold off the Saukees. Brett Amling did a fantastic job coming back from a concussion and Drew Bland makes a key interception around the 10 yard line. Good luck at home Saturday and I will be on the road to watch Maroa go against Bismarck. I’ll be calling Pana at halftime to check the score.

A very big game at Pana as the Panthers square off with Anna. The Panthers have been flying under the radar all season and that’s how they like it. No respect = a chip on the Panthers’ shoulders. This week expect Pana to come out and run hard and hit even harder. Both teams seem to be getting healthy at the right time. This should be a showdown of 2 very good Southern Illinois teams. Also Panther5 Garrett Claxon is a sophomore back for the Panthers who has one touchdown on the season.

And is the biggest stud East of the Mississippi

I think it should be mentioned that Garrett Claxon has played like a stud all year long when he’s been in. Not only did he score a touchdown, but I believe it was in the Litchfield game (someone correct me if I am wrong) that on a kickoff he leveled a Purple Panther and forced a huge fumble. Garrett’s going to be very good and his impact on this team will be huge the next two seasons.

Way to go Panthers!! Listen up to Coach Stupek this week, study the films, and go after Greenville next Saturday. You can do it. Nice catch by cousin Drew on WAND tonight.
