Casey-Westfield at Red Bud

November 2, 2009 at 1:49 pm

Red Bud looked awfully good in its first-round win. It’s two losses were by a touchdown to two playoff teams — 4A Freeburg and 3A Breese Central.

Well, the Warriors get to take a 3 hour road trip this week. Sinclair will have them ready, no doubt. This will be a close ballgame, but I’ll take the purple machine by 10 points.

I think that right after Casey gets off the bus in red bud they will realize they don’t have any decals on their helmets. This will freak them out and red bud will pull off the upset. :-)

Ok, seriously, I’ll take Casey 28-21.

Red Bud played very close to Freeburg which dismantled Mt Zion. And Mt Zion is way better than Casey. I am not calling this a upset. I think Red Bud is the better team.

WOW, pretty interesting CFTN. However I think that Casey gets this one. Close though. 21-20.

CFTN: Freeburg caught MTZ overlooking them. Casey’s not overlooking anybody.

I dont think Coach Sinclair will ever overlook a game but its not about overlooking its about a better team. Good luck to both squads!

Well in that case Casey wins.

dont count on that boys! Red Bud is tough! They play in a real conference not the powderpuff league u all play in!

clown from the north, you better hope mf doesn’t make the semi’s…..or you’re going to look really stupid…as usual

clown: there you go with that LIC haterism again. this is a Casey vs Red Bud thread, not an LIC thread. the LIC didn’t hurt Casey last year did it? The mighty Okaw will only have 2 teams left on Sunday, count on it.

Let’s get back to the real topic. Getting some decals on Casey’s helmets. How about a big W or maybe a C-W? Something? Come on. How about a stripe or maybe a Michigan “wing”? Anything? :-)

  13. cwalum says:
    November 4th, 2009 at 10:09 am

TG: I say we switch ‘em to the painted gold like Notre Dame. We can even get ‘em refinished after each game just like the Irish do it. What do ya think?

  14. Trojan Gods says:
    November 4th, 2009 at 1:29 pm

Not sure. I kind of like the purple. Just needs a little something else. How about a cWw on the sides so you can be like mTf?? :-)

  15. cwalum says:
    November 4th, 2009 at 1:37 pm

Well, we used to have the Florida State arrow back in my day. Then we went to the KC Chiefs arrowhead which was my favorite. What about you guys? What’s up with the blue helmets?

  16. Trojan Gods says:
    November 4th, 2009 at 4:12 pm

Darn. You weren’t supposed to see the new helmets until the semifinals. We thought the solid blue might mess with your heads a little. :-)
    -
Actually, I’m not sure what happened there. Our helmets and home uniforms are all blue this year. We ditched the gold. lol.

  17. cwalum says:
    November 5th, 2009 at 7:21 am

I figured that. You just want to confuse our quarterback into throwing some picks. We’d better put a rush on those gold helmet orders then, lol.

  18. Trojan Gods says:
    November 5th, 2009 at 11:23 am

Cdub: I figured it out. You guys should use the Washington Redskins logo. The indian head with the feathers coming down the back. Just use yellow or white for the decal. Badass with the purple background. :-)

  19. Clown from the North says:
    November 5th, 2009 at 12:13 pm

beast from the east, stupid, there is nothing stupid about saying the LIC is weak! Because it is! Dont even pretend it ranks with the OVC. And I see 4 teams being alive Sunday. The only one I truely believe that will not win is Monticello. But thats the only one. U see we are battle tested in the OVC! Hope to see u in the semis! But i dont think CW gets past Red Bud.

  20. cwalum says:
    November 5th, 2009 at 12:16 pm

Yeah I like it. As long as we don’t have another ‘Chief Illiniwek’ controversy. We can’t use our mascot anymore, so I wouldn’t be surprised if we can’t put an indian head on our helmets.

  21. cwalum says:
    November 5th, 2009 at 12:20 pm

Clown: Battle-tested must be your way of saying you’re used to losing. Therefore, I ‘understand’ if you don’t make it to the semi’s.

  22. Vincent Sims says:
    November 5th, 2009 at 4:41 pm

I’m just getting in on this conversation. Why can’t CW use their mascot? Over in Pittsfield last Saturday the Saukees had a student that was dressed like the Chief. At the time I thought to myself that the politically correct lunacy has not reached Pike County …………….yet.

    November 5th, 2009 at 5:47 pm

cwalum:Thanks for the info about cw having a home simi if both mf and cam lose along the way..I may be considerd stupid but i drive about 4 hours anyways to a cw game.Casey has strong potential to going back to champaign this year.no matter how weak the LIC conference is this year.Dosnt take away the fact that casey has proven it year after year that they can play with the best teams..GO WARRIORS!!!

  24. cwalum says:
    November 5th, 2009 at 7:27 pm

Vincent: You’re asking the wrong guy. That’s a question for the school board. Political correct lunacy is exactly what it is. But, that’s the world we live in.

  25. loop-t-lou says:
    November 7th, 2009 at 4:54 pm

Hey cwalum, you’re an idiot! Count on it. Apprently you can’t count because there are actually 4 teams from the “mighty” Okaw left. It’s ok though don’t cry one will be for sure eliminated next Sat. I just hope you guys are there as well. Don’t worry about the Okaw you better just worry about your team getting there first.

  26. clown from the south says:
    November 7th, 2009 at 8:22 pm

Count on this, Casey will be playing for a state title.

  27. loop-t-lou says:
    November 7th, 2009 at 9:19 pm

Well I don’t know if I can count on it. You have a very good team. Your offense can really score, and I don’t care who you lost last year once your program has a winning tradition (which your’s does) that just makes your team that much hungrier to make a name for themselves. I’m not sure how good Marshall is but you guys would know. The first game of the season you handled your business but it was your closest game. I think we’ll see you in two weekends here on Hwy 51. Good luck this week!

  28. cwalum says:
    November 8th, 2009 at 7:39 am

loop-t: You’re the idiot bud. The semi’s are gonna be here in Casey, NOT on Hwy 51. God, what a douchebag!

  29. cwalum says:
    November 8th, 2009 at 7:47 am

loop-t: By the way, didn’t you pick CW to win by 1? VERY COSE. Let me guess what your next prediction will be: ‘There will be an LIC vs Okaw showdown in the semi’s’. How’d I guess that?

  30. cwalum says:
    November 8th, 2009 at 7:48 am

Sorry, I misspelled CLOSE. I don’t want to offend any English teachers out there.

  31. Okaw #1 says:
    November 8th, 2009 at 7:17 pm

    cwalum,

Guess what? If A&M beats Maroa the semi for 2A will be on Hwy 51 in Moweaqua. So loop-t would be correct.

  32. cwalum says:
    November 8th, 2009 at 7:22 pm

Half correct at this point though my friend. So…right now nobody is correct. What’s your thoughts on the MF/CAM game? Who do you think will win and why? I’m going with history and home-field by saying MF 35 - 28. (I sure hope so)

  33. Trojan Gods says:
    November 9th, 2009 at 12:01 pm

I think we will take it again. We could have won the last meeting by several scores but let up a little and they took advantage. It won’t happen in the playoffs. :-)
    -
Now lets get down to the semis. Any way you guys can tarp that field? I’m sure it will “rain” next week so how about trying to keep the swamp down to a minimum?? :-)

  34. Clown from the North says:
    November 9th, 2009 at 12:05 pm

LOL….I am sure Casey will get about 7 inches of rain with everyone else just getting traces of rain! I heard they put the Fire Department on high alert when Maroa Forsyth wins.

  35. Clown from the North says:
    November 9th, 2009 at 12:09 pm

I will go on record to say if we do go down to Casey and the field is dry and CW wins, I will never say another thing about the LIC conference and CW watering down their fields! :)

  36. cwalum says:
    November 9th, 2009 at 12:27 pm

Ok, can someone define ‘dry’ please?? Dry as in no standing water whatsoever or just an inch? hahaha

  37. okaw #1 says:
    November 9th, 2009 at 12:33 pm

    cwalum,

You won’t need to worry about playing on your field in the semis.

Providing you get past Marshall, and I think you will, you will most likely be comming to A&M next for your last game of the season.

  38. cwalum says:
    November 9th, 2009 at 12:48 pm

Okaw #1: That’s a possibility I’ll give you that. If we do play up there, your dry field should help us pad our stats a little before heading to Champaign, so that’s good.

  39. okaw #1 says:
    November 9th, 2009 at 1:06 pm

    cwalum,

    Thats what Porta thought.

  40. cwalum says:
    November 9th, 2009 at 1:18 pm

Speaking of PORTA, give me the scoop on that game. Were they not as good as advertised or what? I know CAM has a pretty effective line, but zero points? Could they not pass the darn thing or what?
