Xpress Lube has new owners

The Xpress Lube business at 3601 East U.S. 36 in Decatur has changed a lot more than oil recently: it's now got new owners.

Husband and wife team Jeff and Judy Getz took over Aug. 1 and are keeping things the same while making changes at the same time. They like the way the business was being run and have retained all seven employees, with Joe Nunn continuing as manager.

But the new owners are eyeing some new features, too, with plans to introduce an exterior and interior detailing service to supplement the existing oil and transmission fluid changes, fuel injector cleaning, tire rotation and variety of routine maintenance jobs.

Jeff Getz, 45, a former trucking company boss who worked sales for an oil company, got to know the Xpress Lube well over the years as he sold it oil products. When the chance came to buy it, Getz said he knew it was a good deal: "The cleanliness of the facility was something that attracted me to it, and they have very customer-friendly employees who are very courteous," Getz added.

"It's also in an excellent location, and we're real excited about it."

Xpress Lube is open 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Call 425-1545.
