DECATUR - Michelle "Hope" Walker and her daughter, Taushia Walker, have made it to the semifinals of the future reality television show "Crowned."

"Crowned" is to be an eight-episode CW Network program that will feature mother-daughter teams working together as pairs to win a beauty pageant with a grand prize of $100,000 and two tiaras.

Walker and her daughter attended a recent casting call for the show where they were videotaped. The tape was sent to the casting director of the show, who called the mother and daughter personally informing them of their advance to the semifinals.

"I think we're on (the show)," Michelle Walker said. "Decatur, be ready to watch another (local) act on TV."

Next, the pair must do a live phone interview with the casting director, said Tiffany Flint, promotions coordinator for Central Illinois CW. If they make it past this round, they will be flown to Los Angeles for either more rounds or to appear on the show, Flint said.

"They have a good shot," she said.
