A band that formed at Millikin University returns to the neighborhood Saturday night.

The band 56 Hope Road performs at Lock, Stock & Barrel Saturday night.

Admission for the 10 p.m. show is $5.

The band's leaders are Mount Zion natives Dave Hamilton and Chad Goveia. They sing and play guitar, and have done so with the band since its inception in 2000.

The pair have worked together for more than a decade.

The group recently released its third album, "Once In Our Lives," a live album. Previous efforts were "Drop It All" and "All Points Connect."

The group's media kit says, "Creating seamless harmonies and hooks reminiscent of a modern, less folky and more funky Simon and Garfunkel, 56 Hope Road hints at the sounds of G-Love and Special Sauce, Grateful Dead, and Prince."

The members " who include drummer Greg Fundis (originally from Springfield) and bass player Chad Sanders (from Woodhull) " left Central Illinois and used Chicago as a base, and built a following as a touring act. Among the acts for whom they've opened are Tom Cochrane and The Dave Matthews Band. They've recently abandoned their day jobs to pursue music full-time.
