DECATUR - Hugh Reeves, store manager of Linda's Music Center, finds it difficult to describe the Peavey Electronics-inspired motorcycle designed by the Orange County Choppers that will be on display Saturday at the music store.

"It really is something to see," he said after a moment's thought. "There are probably not many motorcycles running around with a guitar built into it."

The Orange County Choppers are custom motorcycle manufacturers featured on "American Chopper," a reality show on TV's Discovery Channel.

Linda's Music Center is serving as a site to view this one-of-a-kind motorcycle, along with a custom-built Peavey guitar inspired by the Orange County Choppers.

The "Custom Shop Meets Custom Shop" tour will stop in Decatur from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday. Linda's Music Center is currently the only Illinois site on the tour.

"I feel very fortunate they had it come to my store," owner Linda Brandon said. "These custom bikes aren't around everywhere."

After a challenge from Peavey Electronics' Hartley Peavey to Paul Teufel Sr., head of Orange County Choppers, the Choppers crew built a Peavey-themed motorcycle complete with an amplifier that they say "really cranks."

Peavey, in turn, designed a custom guitar with the Orange County Choppers during two episodes of "American Chopper" that aired in April.

"There's so much public interest in the show," Reeves said. "It's a chance for us to bring something unique that Decatur will get a chance to see."

The tour is celebrating the launch of Peavey's new online guitar custom shop, PeaveyCustomShop.com, where musicians can choose from more than 16 million options to build a customized Peavey HP Special guitar.

Brandon said she believes her store has picked up a good reputation for being a Peavey Electronics dealer for 25 years.

"Peavey makes excellent products," she said, noting that it's the largest amplifier manufacturer in the world and that more than 100 churches have purchased Peavey public address systems from her store.

"It's an all-American company," she said.
