DECATUR - The Decatur Municipal Band will kick off its 150th annual concert season at 7 p.m. Monday, June 4, at the Central Park Bandstand.
The summer concert season will continue with concerts in Central Park every Monday evening (weather permitting) at 7 p.m. through the end of August. The band will also play at 6 p.m. Sundays, June 10 through July 29, rain or shine, giving a one-hour preview performance in the large pavilion at Fairview Park.
The final performance of the season is scheduled Oct. 9 at Tabernacle Baptist Church. The concert will feature a world premiere performance of a work for band by Philip Sparke, commissioned by the Decatur Municipal Band.
This season marks the 29th year for musical director and conductor Jim Culbertson. All concerts and performances by the Decatur Municipal Band are free to the public.
All concerts are free.
