DECATUR - Louis Flemings, 57, has been charged in Macon County Circuit Court with two counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault and one count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse for allegedly committing sex acts on boys over nearly a 30-year span.
Flemings first was arrested May 26 after a 14-year-old boy complained of Flemings' behavior. He was jailed under a $12,000 bond.
A second arrest was made Tuesday while Flemings was in the county jail after a 38-year-old Decatur man came forward to tell of an incident that occurred when he was about 12 that involved Flemings. Another $12,000 bond was set in that case.
Decatur police Lt. James Chervinko said authorities believe dozens of boys may have been molested by Flemings from the time he was a young man to the present.
"We're asking anyone who was molested by Flemings to contact us," Chervinko said.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Decatur Police Department Juvenile Investigations Division at 424-2738.
In sworn statements filed in court in support of the bond requests, juvenile detective Jeremy Welker said the 12-year-old boy related he and two friends were at Flemings' house in the 1500 block of North Union Street on May 13 where they spent the night.
The boy said he was awakened by Flemings who asked if he could perform oral sex on the youth in exchange for two packs of cigarettes. They boy agreed.
Interviewed about that allegation, Flemings said he and the boy were alone in his bedroom watching pornographic movies when the youth began to masturbate. Flemings denied having any physical contact with the boy.
In the second case, Welker said the 38-year-old man alleged he and a group of friends would go to Flemings' house in the 1800 block of North 34th Street when the boys were all about 12 or 13. The man alleged Flemings would give the boys alcoholic beverages until they became intoxicated.
The man alleged that on at least three occasions, Flemings performed oral sex on him, Welker said.
The man said he had not reported the incidents earlier because of embarrassment but had done so now because he feared Flemings was still victimizing young boys, Welker said.
