A Decatur real estate company is expanding to offer a commercial property division.

RE/MAX Complete, which has been performing residential real estate services in the Decatur area since 2006, now offers services in property management, sales and leasing.

The company has found a lot of interest in its commercial services as owners look to expand or add new businesses.

"It takes a long time for all that to work through, but at least it's happening," said agent Shirley Henrichsmeyer, who runs the business with Cindy Bachmann. "We've had a lot of interest and felt we really need to start pursuing this."

The expansion allows people to find information about commercial properties in Decatur on www.remaxcommercial.com.

For more information, contact Bachmann or Henrichsmeyer at 872-6400.

Two businesses that had made their home in the Village Mall have new locations.

Merle Norman Cosmetics will be open for business Monday at 148 E. Main St., next to Pastabilities Italian Grill.

Merle Norman has to move because of the closure of the mall, but the relocation is not unwelcome. The new location covers 1,400 square feet, almost twice the size of the present premises.

"We're growing, and I would have needed more space anyway," said business owner Marilyn Melvin. "Now we'll have all that space, and it's being remodeled by the people we're leasing from, so it's a wonderful opportunity for us."

Monday also will mark the start of a customer appreciation week, with 10 percent off Merle Norman products.

Artistic Cosmetics has moved to 3260 N. Charles St., north of Cub Foods.

The salon offers a number of services including hairstyling, facials and manicures.

"We're a full-service beauty salon," owner Tess Leckrone said.

The Decatur 501 Club will hold its two-year anniversary celebration from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday. Young professionals and 501 Club sponsors are invited to attend the celebration which is a pig roast and bonfire at the Beach House.

The cost is $10 per person which includes food and select drinks.

The Decatur 501 Club is a club for area young professionals age 21 to 40.

Speaking of the Beach House, its restaurant and catering service will be closed on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday for maintenance, equipment and safety.;upgrades. It will reopen for dinner at 5 p.m. Thursday, at which time chef John Redden will be introducing new menu items for the restaurant and catering service.

A Central Illinois television station recently has been purchased.

GOCOM Media, the owner of Fox affiliates WRSP in Springfield and WCCU in Champaign, last week bought CW affiliate WBUI from Acme Communications.

WBUI's main operations will move to Springfield, while the sales office has moved to Suite 102 at One Main Place in Decatur.

WBUI General Sales Manager Bart Greenberger says the station wanted to keep its Decatur presence.

"We want to focus on the Decatur business," Greenberger said. "WBUI always had a presence in Decatur, and now with GOCOM as our owners, we want to continue fostering relationships with the Decatur area."

The Decatur office employs four sales representatives, one assistant and a manager.

Greenberger doesn't expect the sale to affect programming on any of the stations.

Call the WBUI sales office at 428-2323.
