An assisted living facility is being built on the west side of Mount Zion.

The Glenwood Assisted Living Facility at 1635 Baltimore Ave. will feature 38 apartments offering a full array of services. It will offer services including three meals a day, housekeeping, laundry, activities, transportation to appointments, a beauty shop and exercise room.

"We're getting a lot of interest," said Shelley Nuelle, director of operations for Effingham-based CJC Management. "We saw a need there. More and more people are wanting to stay closer to home. There's a nice elderly population in Mount Zion that needs to be serviced."

The company also has facilities in Greenville, Mahomet and Staunton.

Nuelle said the Mount Zion property is expected to open in April. Call 821-9539.
