ROSE HILL - A Newton man was killed Monday morning when a pickup truck collided with his motorcycle on a rural road.
Lyle Winter, 83, was riding westbound on Rose Hill Road, about two miles east of the small Jasper County town, at about 7:55 a.m., according to the Illinois State Police.
A pickup truck driven by Marion Mitchell, 68, of Hidalgo, struck the motorcycle at the intersection of 1400 East Road and Rose Hill Road.
Mitchell was issued a citation for failing to yield.
